Great Deal 0.43x HD² Full Fisheye Lens for 37mm Digital -

I have a Canon VIXIA HF20 HD Dual Flash Memory with 32 GB of internal memory and a 15x optical zoom and I think it's a fantastic camera. However, I wished for a more objective perspective. Offer Canon Canon WD-H37 II is a wide angle of 37 millimeters Filter Diameter Optimized for HD camcorder too expensive: currently $ 198.37 on Amazon. So I tried the 0.43x HD ² Full Fisheye Lens for -. 37 millimeters This is a true fisheye lens, very useful if you need this type of effect (with a lotThe distortion and vignetting, which is inevitable). It also has an attachment for macro close-ups. The disadvantage is the image quality. It 'OK if the camera with optical zoom is completely reduced. When you zoom, the image is completely blurred. I ended up buying another lens, the Sony VCLHA07A Wide Angle Lens for Sony MiniDV and Hi8 . It 'also cheap, ranging from less than $ 30, more or less the same price of the . However, the picture quality is very good. There is littleDegradation, though zoom in, in fact, always keep connected to the camera so that you get at an angle above the target normal and exceptional image quality in every situation. If you want a true fisheye lens and are willing to sacrifice the optical quality, 0.43x is the right choice. If you have a not-so-wide-angle (about 30% larger than the original, with a factor of 0.7) must, in the lens Sony better. I made some videos on YouTube with some test shots and Sony OptekaLens. The Lens Hood is one of the most important you need for each lens you own.A lens hood provides multiple functions: preventing image-degrading lens flare by blocking stray light from striking the surface of the lens, it enables your lens to give you the sharpest photographs with the best contrast and most vivid colors, in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Lens for Canon Digital SLR Review

The problem with reviews in general is that they’re much like stereo reviews – done by geeks who don’t actually use the gear for the intended purpose as much as for a reason to get on the internet and spout off crap about “bokeh” (what a stupid word that I can promise you no pro has ever uttered in their lives – in fact, if you hear that word it’s a dead giveaway that this is a person who is more into gear than photography. Sorta like “total harmonic distortion”…).

I digress.

I am a pro. It’s all I’ve ever done and I never say “bokeh” so you can trust me. Typically I shoot with Hasselblad but I’ve returned to Canon for the video of the 5D MkII and so I had to rebuy all my lenses again. Since I shoot food on location once in a while I thought I’d try this lens. As I progress in my career I tend to avoid extreme lenses (any thing past 24 or 105) since they’re typically a crutch for poor photos and I like being closer to “normal”. Anyway, I’ve about 4 jobs with this lens and I have to say it’s utterly transparent. Not the glass – the experience of it. That’s really what you’re looking for: a lens that doesn’t intrude or get in the way. Focus is fast, quiet and accurate. It’s well balanced. It’s bright. Most importantly is has real good juju. That’s really what you’re looking for – gear that makes you want to shoot.

This is that.

Wide-open afficionados buy this – ignphotography –
Sean Reid [...]. rated this as the L lens worth its price tag. That was the decider for me to invest my saved pennies and few plastic ones too and buy this lens.

I read so many other reviews on the net and here on Amazon that question the value of the lens given its EF 50mm f1.4 brother. For some reason there are few pieces of glass in Canon’s line-up that get bullied on the net and this is one of those lenses. Another example is Canon EF 100mm f2.

This lens clearly outperforms f1.4 in every respect and as Sean Reid points out it also outperforms Sigma and Zeiss 1.4’s too.

To keep this brief I would say that – if you use 50mm often and expect reliability and longevity as well immunity from atmospheric elements (within reason) then this is the lens for you. If you live in the surreal world of below f2.8 quite often and you expect usefulness from such large aperture ventures then this is the lens for you.

Don’t be sad and buy this because it is an L, buy it if you really need it :-)

Focus is critical – William D. Colburn – Socorro, NM USA
At 1.2 you don’t get much depth of field, so if you miss the focus then you’ve missed the picture. I read lots of complaints about back focus and front focus and bad copies and I don’t buy it. I think that most people can’t focus and they blame the equipment. Google for “DOF Calculator” and run the numbers yourself to see how little room for error you have.

This lens is absolutely amazing. It’s sharp, it’s prime, it’s 50mm, it’s f/1.2, and it’s not made of plastic. I broke three plastic 1.8 lenses before I bought this. I shouldn’t have waited so long.

The most amazing thing is that my can focus in near total darkness with this lens on. It can focus on things in darkness that I can’t even see. I normally shoot with f/2.8 lenses, and going to f/1.2 was an amazing transition.

The autofocus is, however, slow. I find 50mm to be a great focal length for the sporting events I attend locally, but it doesn’t focus like a sporting lens should.

I’m very happy I bought it.

love it. – Ashley Thompson – muskogee,ok
this is my favorite lens- ever. i have yet to take it off my . worth every pretty penny.

incorrect advertising. – Triskelion – Tucson,AZ
I own this item. It does not connect to my Canon AE-1 nor will it connect to any that has an FD connection. It does not have an FD coupler. I think this was meant for a telescope instead. By the time i opened the box the return policy expired.

Great Price Sigma 728-306 for $899.00

Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 AF APO DG OS HSM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras Review

One of the major reasons I got the lens was to take candid, hand-held, action shots of boats and the people in them. My platform for taking the pictures would be a rolling, pitching boat. After a month of using the lens, I am well-satisfied with its abilities. I usually use ISO settings of 1000 or higher. Output is to a website photo gallery or print rarely larger than 8.5″ x 11″. Graininess has not been an issue with the Canon 50D. The other lens I was considering was the Sigma 200-500. I decided in favor of the Sigma 120-400 because of the 77mm filter size (I already have a bunch), size/weight, concern that 200 was large a lower end and 500 likely difficult to hand-hold in a boat.

I relied heavily on Amazon reviews and other reviews in making my selection. One Amazon reviewer noted that the lens was shipped in a box with virtually no protection. This was my experience as well. The lens came through fine, contrary to my expectation when I first opened the box.

A good lense – B. Wirths – Long Island NY
I love this lense, use it every chance I get (outdoors) typically a slow lense. I gave it 4 stars due to the fact is seems a bit contrasty to me. But all in all outdoors I love it.

Great lens… great product @ the right price.. – Tiong Guan Chng – Plano TX USA!
just got the lens a week ago ! did a photo shoot in an Airshow here in Dallas Area and the performance was great. picture is clear if I do my part ! I find it easier when I mount the lens on the monopod. I push the shutter speed right to 1200 and all pic came out good. lens is a bit heavy but managable. focusing is fast and I like the twist zoom over the Canon 100-400L. I have use both and could not fault this lens over the canon and of course the cost of the Sigma is like 0 cheaper too! I use it on my Canon 40D and picture is good! a bit on the softer side at 400mm! other than that, I am a happy camper.

Sigma 120-400 f4.5 – f5.6 HSM Exceeded my expectations – Bob in USA – USA
I just received my Sigma 120-400mm Lens and I am very satisfied with this product. I had read a lot of reviews on the lens and most were very favorable reviews. But you never know till you see it for yourself. I am happy to report that it is plenty sharp enough for my needs and I like the colors and contrast I am getting with this lens. I did adjust focus using the AF fine tune feature on the D700 to -15 and I am ready to go. If you want to see some photos taken with the Sigma 120-400 lens type bc1963 photos in your search engine and select my flickr photostream.

Lens for all Seasons – Woody Pollock – Suburban Philadelphia-Go Eagles!
I am a recovering pro shooter (semi-retired) and bought this lens to shoot my grandchildren in sports activities. I have fallen in love w/it. It is the largest of 4 Sigma lenses for my Nikons (2-300’s, 1-200) and I bought it on a whim. WOW! Nice and crisp, can be handneld even by 66 year-old shooter! OS is not overly noisy, certainly not distracting and has given me the freedom from tri/mono-pods for daylight sports, F2.8 isn’t necessary in sunlight for me. I saved a bundle, built a rep as the greatest G-Pop and compromised nothing in the process. BTW, I have some wonderful wildlife shots as well, since I live within a mile of the Delaware River.I recommend this lens w/o equivication under the uses I have put it to. Is it the best? No, but w/o it I couldn’t have gotten the images I have. That’s the best.

Great Price Sony SAL-85F14Z for

Sony SAL-85F14Z 85mm f1.4 Carl Zeiss Planar T Coated Telephoto Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Review

The sharpness creamy bokeh are unmatched by any other alpha mount lens. The auto clutch is a fine addition, since this lens has some heft to it, so you’ll find yourself balancing the by the lens with your left hand. When it is in AF, the focusing ring doesnt turn. Nice. The colors are reproduced as true as any glass on the market. My only issue is minor, I wish the lens hood had a filter window, similar to the 70200SSM.
Very fast focusing even in low light, but to really get the most out of it, mount it on the A700. It does tend to lag a tad in low light when mounted on the KM 7D.

You’ll forget the hit to your pocketbook as soon as you print your first shot!

Clarity or show off or WHAT? What are you saying? – Harputlu – Los Angeles
Some fellow on this page reviewed this lens (Sony SAL-85F14Z ) without understanding the fundamentals of digital photography or optical geometry, saying, “since its 35mm equivalent focal length is nearly 130 mm”.

This lens is an 85 mm lens for a 35 mm DSLR such as Sony Alpha A900 (and soon Sony Alpha A850. On their little sister, A700, it will be a 170 mm lens because A700 employs a half-frame AC type sensor. In that case it will act like middle focal length lens.

Worth it, worth it, worth it! – K. Jamison – Lebanon, Ohio
This lens is phenomenal. I was a bit hesitant about purchasing it simply due to price tag, but with a daughter on the way and with the sale of some other equipment, I was able to make it happen. This lens is amazing. My daughter is 3 months old now and I have taken 100s of professional quality photos.

Pros:
- Razor sharp.
- Fantastic colors.
- Amazing bokeh.

Cons:
- Heavy (which I consider a pro, due to the excellent build quality)

I highly recommend this lens. I also have the zeiss 16-80mm, and the sony 100mm 2.8. While both are great lenses, the 85mm zeiss rarely leaves my anymore.

Unbelievably Sharp – Brian Smith – Miami Beach, Florida USA
Sony’s Zeiss Planar 85mm/1.4 is among the sharpest lenses I’ve ever seen. I’ve long been a fan of Zeiss medium format glass – particularly the Zeiss lenses for the Contax 645. Not only is this lens incredibly sharp, but somehow even captures a “medium format” look and feel.

Also recommended are Sony’s Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8 Sony 24 -70mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T Zoom Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR and Zeiss 135/1.8 lenses Sony SAL-135F18Z 135mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T Telephoto Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR in an growing line-up of amazing Sony flagship lenses.

An excellent portrait lens – Photo/Video Gearhead – California
I am astonished by this lens, as well as its sibling the 135mm f/1.8 lens Sony SAL-135F18Z 135mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T Telephoto Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR . Each lens is razor sharp at its widest aperture. A discussion of this lens, as well as of the Minolta 85mm f1.4 lens, may be found at the Photozone site. Compared to the Minolta lens, this lens is sharper and exhibits less vignetting, although it does exhibit slightly more chromatic aberration but to no serious extent.
